A Special Afternoon at Carmody's Irish Pub

Yesterday afternoon I played at Carmody's Irish Pub in Duluth, MN before an audience of Irish music-loving folks. They were such a great crowd that loved to sing or clap along. It was an added treat that my nephew was able to there, too, to celebrate his Irish roots - and enthusiastically participate! Even one of the owners of Carmody's, Ed Geeson, played along on the Bodhran on a few tunes, which was an unexpected delight. One of the touching parts of the evening was having a young man hand me a pint out of appreciation for my playing. He said as a boy his grandfather had sung roughly half of the songs to him that I'd done. It had brought back such wonderful recollections that he wondered how he could thank me. So he handed me a pint between songs. You never know how you touch people with music sometimes when you're performing. This was a very special afternoon, all the more so because I did not record any of it, either audio or video. The music will remain as a memory in my heart.
