John began playing guitar at an early age and has a life-long love of Irish ballads and instrumentals. Though largely self-taught, he later studied with the acclaimed Irish singer and guitarist, John Doyle. He composes music as well and has written original Irish music for Garrison Keillor's "A Prairie Home Companion." This album contains some of his personal favorites, as well as those most requested in performance.
